When we wonder how successful trading is we have to compare it to something.   We could just look at how many dollars worth we started with and how many we have now, we could look at how much Bitcoin value we started with and how much we have now and we could look at how much a basket of the top cryptos has performed over the same time period and that is exactly what this is.

This portfolio is the top five cryptos, ignoring stable coins, bought at the start of the project and comparing their value now.

If our experimental portfolios have done well in dollar terms, they might have even doubled, if they have not out performed this portfolio then we can still conclude they have failed
